Regarding My Donation To Obama

My good friend wrote to me:

"I don't know how you are able to do that.
Things are still too tight for me to do
any such thing, but I will consider that."

I replied:

I was sick all week and I didn’t eat
anything for three days. The next 2 days
I ate fruit and a sandwich. Yesterday,
I ate some fruit and a half pack of that
Knorr/Lipton Rice and 2 slices of bread.

So, I figured I had saved enough money
on groceries this past week to make that
contribution to the Obama campaign and
you know what? It was the right thing to
do cause . . .

After I made that donation I felt a whole
lot better and you know what else? I’m
not in the least bit hungry.

I ate 2 bananas at 5 P.M today and I’ll
have a veggie sandwich later tonight.

So, my illness and my fast was all for
a good cause. It’s great to sacrifice
something for something worthwhile,
at least once in a lifetime.

Yep, I feel better than ever. And now that
I know I can eat less - you know what I
think I'll do? I think I'll fast and donate
and feel real good about it at least one
week per month until after the election.

And should I start failing in my commitment
all I have to do is look at a picture of Mr. Bush
and Mr. McCain standing together and that
should be sufficient for me to lose my
appetite for at least a week.

Thanks, for considering making a contribution
to Mr. Obama. And if you do, I promise you,
your heart and soul will sing!
