Hunting
& Gathering

                     time like a sleek
                                             dark cormorant
            glides through space
                         dives deeply
           and always moves
    towards certainty

Two poems for the price of one. A lot of thought went into this piece. How else could it be so thought provoking? The interweaving of time and space is signified beautifully in the structure of the poem. The image of the dark cormorant is breathtaking (I had to look up cormorant online and saw a picture of one).
I read time as the "hunting" and space as the "gathering". This idea alone is rich with layers of meaning. I enjoyed pondering them while reading the poem several times.
This is also my favorite piece that plays with the shape of the poem. I see a picture of a dark breasted cormorant flying across the page. All in all, this is an eloquent, multilayered, unique and enjoyable piece!
