so many times
so many times I stood quietly
beside this peaceful oasis
sparkling of infinite beauty
so many times I dug trenches
rechanneling pure essence
into a desert of chaos
so many times death visited
to draw vacant plans in dunes
and across a hot and arid sky
so many times I refused
simply to cup my hands,
dip and partake and live
beside this peaceful oasis
sparkling of infinite beauty
so many times I dug trenches
rechanneling pure essence
into a desert of chaos
so many times death visited
to draw vacant plans in dunes
and across a hot and arid sky
so many times I refused
simply to cup my hands,
dip and partake and live

This one has the transcendent spiritual tone of some of your other great ones, it has a nice quality, and is thought provoking, but for me it does not stand up to some of the other Tom Scot classics.
